The Maserati Gran Sport was the sports version of the 4200 coupe but the importance of this vehicle has demonstrated why we have given it a seperate section. In addition, the MC Victory pushed the final production of this very excting vehicle, with a unique interior including bucket seats and sublte exterior changes like a front larger splitter.

Launched in 2005 this model changed the whole companies profile in its appearance to produce cars. The normal coupe did have a limited appeal and by adding a sportier version with larger wheels, sportier interior, larger wheels and a totally different different exterior, showwed the world Maserati could produce an excitting alternative. The results were staggering, although performance remained similar with the engine producing almost 400BHP, the suspension and gearbox were revised in their settings, these included a lower ride height, fast gear changes and a sports switchable exhaust. New revised interior including half leather Recaro seats, carbon fibre centre console, push button start, technical cloth on door panels and dash trims and a new carbon fibre steering wheel.

To drive these cars had a very different experience to a standard coupe, more driver focused and more capable to enthrall the driver. As i said the results were staggering considering that mechnically there were very similar. This has made the Gransport very desirable and as such the residual values remain strong.

There was also some limited versions, like the Gran Sport Spyder, which are exceptionally rare as is the Gran Sport MC, which had light blue MC 12 colour interior. there were two versions of Gran Sport, basic and the LE version, however most people specified the vehicle with better interior so the differences were very difficult to tell differentiate.

Standard colours were, Nero Carbonio( Black), Rosso Mondial, Nettuno Blue, Sebring Blue, Touring Silver and Mediteranio Blue. Other colours became available later that include Grigio Alfeiri (Dark Grey), Giallo yellow, Grigio Nuvolari (medium Grey), Grigio Paladio and Verdi Mexico (Dark Green). Other touches included coloured alloy wheels, polished alloy wheels, full lether interior, xenon headlamps, full leather headlining, electric memory seats and headlamp washer system.
